November 7th, 2008 -- Posted in Health | No Comments »

There are so many things you ignore when you are young but for every woman at some stage in her life she will firmly believe that her body hates her. Which women will suffer with severe menstrual cramps and those who will not remains a mystery. Other contributing factors which can increase the problem are PCOS and also endometriosis both of which affect approximately 10 percent of women. A few women are lucky and their pains hardly bother them while other can barely get out of bed.

Menstrual Cramp

Relief from this pain is something many women search for but it needs to be consistent. Most women rely on taking a pill during this time which also seems the most obvious answer. Some brands like Pamprin are made just for this reason, but other pain relievers should work just as well. Many women won’t take any form of pain relief but if you are one of those women maybe it is time you started to think about it.

There should be no guilt about wanting to live a normal life each month so why put up with pain? If the cramps aren’t bad enough, women can also suffer with a bloated stomach and the sensation of queasiness too. Eventually I came to the conclusion that I would need to find a reliable menstrual cramp relief remedy to get rid of those pains each cycle. It was so inconsistent; many months there would be hardly any pain and then I would have a cycle where I thought I had someone squeezing me tightly for hours on end.

Recently I started using a heat pad which a friend suggested I try and has worked with some success at easing the discomfort although I do have to vary where I place it for effectiveness; sometimes on my stomach and other times on my back. If pills don’t seem to touch the pain, this may be something you want to try for your discomfort. While these ideas may be ok for some women, others that have regular painful menstrual cramps each month may need to do something more permanent. Where this is causing a problem with attending work each cycle, you may forced into finding something to help before you find yourself seeking other employment.

To stop the situation worsening you should speak to your physician to see what menstrual cramp relief solution he can come up with. Your doctor may suggest using the contraceptive pill because he knows just how good it is at helping women who suffer each month with stomach cramps. Just remember to talk about your health matters with your doctor to see if it is safe for you to be on the Pill, and remember, this isn’t an option if you are trying to get pregnant and in that case, you may just have to grin and bear your discomfort. Don’t give up on your search because a remedy does exist if you are persistent.
